After winning ‘Meme of the Year’ at NymN’s 2019 Twitch awards, Felix ‘xQc‘ Lengyel opened up about how his infamous “six consoles” rant sums up his views on streaming.
Popular streamer NymN is holding his own Twitch awards to wrap the year up, and gave xQc Meme of the Year for his hilarious rant about other streamers’ over-the-top setups.
Accepting the honor, the popular variety broadcaster revealed why the rant explains how he sees himself as a streamer, and not wanting to view the medium as a typical job.
xQc explains what his six console rant was about
The popular Twitch star’s explosive rant about other streamers’ setups first went viral in April when he went off on other personalities that utilize multiple cameras, and microphones.
“Sound filter, six monitors, pedals, drums, a gaming guitar controller, six consoles! Ten computers, bunch of f**king wires, sound pads, speakers!” he kept listing off, as he mocked other Twitch channels with elaborate setups.
The clip quickly went viral, and was one of the most watched videos on Twitch in 2019 with over 457,000 views. The Canadian streamer finished the rant by saying,”I don’t want to go into an office.”
During NymN’s yearly awards round up on December 28, the popular streamer opened up more on what the rant really meant to him, and explained the popular moment came when a fan went into his chat and complained about his bad lighting and mic quality.
“I’ve always had like bad lighting. And the mic has always been pretty bad. But whenever I go to the computer, and I go turn on the stream, I want to be just like when I didn’t stream,” he said. “Whenever I woke up and I got something to eat, and I’m just on the computer, I want to be just like that.”

He then explained why he doesn’t want streaming to feel like a job: “I don’t want my room to feel like a studio. For me while I’m making it, for my own experience, I just want to be in an environment that I don’t feel like you have to make content.”
xQc then clarified that he doesn’t want his streaming space to feel like he’s “on the clock” for work. “I don’t want to feel like I’m going to work. I felt like if I upgraded my setup at once it would feel like that 100% and create a distinction,” he said.
The Canadian then stated he wanted his upgrades to be a natural progression that he bought “slowly” over time, and that other streamers “ramp it up” and decide to buy their entire elaborate setup at once.
NymN pressed the Overwatch pro on whether he would consider buying any of the items he listed in his rant, to which he hilariously responded “Yeah, a mic filter!” and then confessed that he bought one.
If nothing else, the over the top rant is a good example of why xQc continues to be one of the most popular streamers in the world. The viral moment was so beloved that we put it as our number one pick for the most funniest Twitch clip of 2019 in our yearly round up.
The Canadian personality was also the most viewed channel on the streaming platform in December, and as of the time of this article has over 1.8 million followers, and consistently brings in over 30,000 viewers per broadcast.
