Popular YouTuber Eugenia Cooney has laid any rumors of her death to rest, after fans expressed mass concern over her Kingdom Hearts ‘Kairi’ cosplay video.
Cooney addressed speculation of her passing in a Tweet on February 10, where she thanked fans for their support and even announced that she was privately visiting a doctor.
“Hi, guys! I appreciate the concern,” Cooney wrote. “I’m taking a break from social media and voluntarily working on this with my doctor privately. Please respect that.”

Cooney’s Tweet was met with felicitations from her fans and critics alike, with even Drama Alert’s Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR’ Keem wishing the YouTuber well.
Cooney’s Tweet follows an outpouring of concern spurred by her Kingdom Hearts cosplay video in late January, which showed a dramatic change in her already skeletal appearance – leading to rumors and speculation that the YouTuber was dear death.

Some viewers even blamed major platforms like Instagram and YouTube for being complicit in what appeared to be self-harm from a severe eating disorder, while others feared that Cooney’s videos could convince young fans to follow her example.
Following the release of Cooney’s cosplay video, YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg urged his fans to send their support to her, prompting a flood of positive comments underneath the video in question.
the fact that @youtube hasn’t suspended eugenia cooney’s channel yet is truly disturbing. you demonitize people for the most minor things but you’re allowing this girl to profit off of documenting her own death instead of trying to help her? gross. fuck y’all

Now, it appears that Cooney is seeking out help – although she asks for privacy in the midst of her treatment.
