YouTuber and internet personality Gregory ‘Onision’ Jackson has had his Twitch account banned, following his ban from Patreon in late 2019.

The YouTuber, who previously had over 2 million subscribers on his channel until controversy struck in late 2019, sending his sub count to just over 1.5 million, has faced allegations of abuse and child grooming.

In November 2019, Jackson’s Patreon account was banned for doxing, after he posted the phone number of fellow YouTuber Billie Dawn Webb, who had accused Onision of manipulating her into a relationship.

Onision has been in a storm of controversy, leading up to his Twitch ban.

On January 15, Onision’s partnered Twitch channel was also banned, despite not having streamed for almost two weeks.

In fact, he had barely used or promoted his Twitch channel, only broadcasting sporadically, and most of the time to less than 20 concurrent viewers, according to statistics from SullyGnome.

He only had around 29,000 followers on the platform, despite his popularity on YouTube, and had streamed only League of Legends or in the ‘Just Chatting’ Section.

It’s unknown what rule Twitch terminated his account for, or if the ban is permanent. Jackson himself has not spoken out on the ban.

Who is Onision?

A YouTuber since 2006, Onision rose to popularity on the platform with various skits and satire, and also has a popular second channel, UhOhBro, where he uploads more personal videos.

His videos earned him the title of “most controversial YouTuber” way back in 2010, but things took a more sinister turn in recent years.

In 2019, a video surfaced of Jackson with an ex-girlfriend, Shiloh Hoganson, in which he is heard saying “You know this video is never going to be online, right? No one will ever know how much I abuse you.”

Onision was banned from Patreon for “doxxing”.

Throughout the latter half of 2019, several women accused Jackson and his spouse, Kai Averoe, of abuse and harassment. On October 30, 2019, Chris Hansen announced that he and the FBI were investigating allegations of child grooming against Onision, speaking with one of the alleged victims, Sarah.

When Hansen arrived at Onision’s door to speak with him in January, the YouTuber called 911 and reported Hansen as a “stalker”.

In an interview with Hansen, Hoganson claimed that she was treated as a “slave” by Jackson, and that the trauma had resulted in her having seizures.

Twitch may have banned Onision for his actions on other platforms, as its community guidelines state: “We may take action against users for hateful conduct or harassment that occurs off Twitch services that is directed at Twitch users.”
