EA SPORTS have addressed an issue with the recently released CONMEBOL Sudamericana cards in FIFA Ultimate Team, claiming that players will be compensated for the problems.
After months of waiting, EA SPORTS finally dropped the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana content for FIFA 20 on March 3 – giving fans the chance to lift the greatest prize in South American football.
In addition to the new single-player mode, the Sudamerica cards were also added to Ultimate Team in a similar style to the UEFA Champions League cards. Featuring players like Carlos Tevez, Antonio Valencia, and Emmanuel Adebayor, these cards were styled in unique artwork that hadn’t been seen in FIFA before. However, there have since been issues.
Not long after they were released in packs, FUT players noted that they were not receiving the new versions of the cards – only being able to pack the common variations of the cards in their place.
However, after a round of complaints, EA SPORTS themselves have addressed the issue by removing the common items from packs until further notice. “Common CONMEBOL Sudamericana player items have been removed from gold packs while we investigate concerns of these items appearing in rare guarantee packs,” they tweeted.
“Users who packed these items will be compensated in-game at a later date. Stay tuned for updates.”

Of course, it’s not the only issue that FIFA 20 has had with getting cards from packs. Players have reported issues in the past with other promos, while back in January, they were unable to claim their Weekend League red player picks.
How long until this issue with the cards is fixed remains to be seen – as does the compensation that players will receive. EA could very well refund the packs and give players the coins or packs back – or they could just drop the new cards into their club.
It is all a waiting game now, so, we’ll keep you updated as soon as they make a change.
