Feyenoord and Holland young gun Wouter Burger has had his FIFA 20 Ultimate Team revealed, and it’s one of the strangest outfits we’ve seen from any professional player.
Currently on loan at second-tier Excelsior, Feyenoord’s Wouter Burger is one of Holland’s most promising young midfielders. Despite struggling for Eredivisie minutes, the 19-year-old has made over 40 appearances for the Netherlands’ youth sides.
It seems Burger is spending his quarantine period like a lot of us – playing EA Sports’ FIFA 20 Weekend League. While some pro players boast insanely strong elevens, Burger’s is an absolutely bizarre mix of players.
Running a 4-5-1 formation, Burger’s front six is pretty strong. R9 Ronaldo leads the line, with Ruud Gullit and Pele playing CAMs. Neymar is at LM and FUT Birthday Angel Di Maria plays RM.
With Burger’s own 99-rated custom card playing CM, you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s one of the best lineups we’ve seen.
Burger’s back 5 though, is completely insane. Virgil Van Dijk is with Joe Gomez for a Liverpool based CB pairing, with Nathan Ake playing totally out of position at RB. Similarly, FUT Champions Theo Hernandez plays at LB, with absolutely no chemistry. To round off the bizarre picks, Roma’s Pau Gomez is playing in goal, also with no chemistry links to the defence.

The Redditor explained that they lost the Division 5 clash 5-3. Maybe the high scoring nature of the game reflects Burger’s truly bizarre defensive lineup. You can check out his full XI below:
- GK: Pau Gomez – 85
- RB: Nathan Ake – 80
- CB: Joe Gomez – 80
- CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 90
- LB: Theo Hernandez – 84
- CM: Wouter Burger – 99
- LM: Neymar – 92
- RM: Angel Di Maria – 91
- CAM: Pele – 95
- CAM: Ruud Gullit – 90
- ST: Ronaldo – 94
The areas Burger could improve in are pretty self-explanatory. Put Alisson in goal for chemistry, and Alexander-Arnold at RB to get a full-chemistry Liverpool defence. Then buy a PSG left back and the Dutch midfielder’s defensive problems are gone.
It’s not quite clear what decision-making went into forming that backline, but maybe it’s still a work-in-progress… or hopefully it is, at least.
