The 2019/20 season may be suspended around the world, but with more than a third of the campaign in the books, EA SPORTS have more than enough to pick from for the upcoming Bundesliga Team of the Season — but who will they choose?
In years past, the FIFA developers have had it relatively easy. Most of their end-of-year TOTS releases are based around real-life lineups chosen by journalists and fans around the world. This year, however, the season may not be over.
With uncertainty swirling around the top leagues, and when they return, it’s likely EA will still stick to the usual annual schedule. Last year, the squad came out in late May. This time, all signs point to the same drop date as well – with details on TOTS packs having seemingly been leaked.
The current Bundesliga season may not have been entirely played out yet, but there have still been standout players across the board. After languishing in the top eight for much of their campaign, Bayern Munich has surged into first.
Dortmund, Leipzig, and Mönchengladbach are close behind, and with them has come a host of heroes. From breakout stars Erling Braut Håland and Timo Werner, to strike stalwart Robert Lewandowski, there’s plenty of picks — here’s ours.

Leipzig defensive duo Upamecano and Gulácsi both slot into the back-side of the team, while on-loan Hakimi has earned his place with 10 assists for Dortmund in 46 appearances this season.
Quaison has also shone for Mainz. The Rhineland-Palatinate squad has struggled to stay out of the relegation zone for much of 2019/20. Their Swedish striker has played a big role in keeping them out with 12 goals, though.
Schalke 04 also notably finds no luck in our predicted Team of the Season. The blue-washed Rhine-Westphalia club sits in sixth — 14 points behind arch-rivals Dortmund — but have again had no stand-outs. Last year they also had zero.
So there you have it — our predictions for FIFA 20’s upcoming 2019/20 Bundesliga Team of the Season. Keep in mind, considering everything going on with global sport at the moment, these may come a little later than usual.
