FIFA 22 will add a new set of ICONs (Legends) to Ultimate Team, from the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, and beyond. Additionally, FIFA 22 FUT Heroes will also be included, a new card rarity with a fresh chemistry system.
Each year, before the new FIFA game releases, fans across the globe pour in with ideas for what EA SPORTS can change, add, or remove from the game.
In the last few titles, a group of ICON cards have been added to the collection – with David Beckham arriving late, after Christmas in a shock update. Now, all eyes turn to the next unrevealed set of special cards, with some leaks pointing at the likes of Cafu and Di Natale set for inclusion.
In FIFA 21, EA dropped the biggest crop of ICONs yet, with over 100 being up for grabs.
As FIFA 22’s release date draws near, let’s take a look at every confirmed, leaked, and rumored ICON mentioned so far.
New FIFA 22 ICON ratings confirmed
FUTWatch discovered a number of new FIFA 22 ICONs have been added to the game. The list included Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, among others.
Insider Futzone has also tipped dual Argentinian and Spanish international Alfredo Di Stefano to get a new-look ICON style.
However, only a select few have been confirmed. Cafu, Iker Casillas, and Robin van Persie will be making their entrance at the start of FIFA 22 — alongside one other yet-to-be-released ICON.

What are ICON Hero cards in FIFA 22?
FIFA 22 is also bringing us an entirely new type of ICON: the Hero card. Hero cards are basically lower-rated ICON cards of notable players from past games that have been given the chance to tear up the pitch once again.
Whether or not they’ll be cheaper than other ICONS or how they’ll fit into Ultimate Team remains to be seen, but at least we know a new category of card is headed our way.
FUT Heroes Card Design
How chemistry will work
EA premiered a new card design for the FUT Heroes selection this year, and for those who don’t know, FUT Heroes cards also offer “unique league-specific chemistry which is tied to their specific hero moment, providing a green Club link to any player within the same league as well as the usual nation link”
This should make them very handy for hybrid teams and SBCs.
