A Walmart worker went viral after he claimed that online pickers were actually lying to customers about ‘unavailable’ items.
If you’ve ever ordered a Walmart pick-up through the store’s mobile application or website, then your order will have been fulfilled by a ‘picker.’ Pickers are the people who will manually grab the items in store for you, and are equipped with devices that display all of the store’s inventory.
Sometimes, however, there are discrepancies between the inventory list, and what’s actually in store. This might be a result of theft, unprocessed returns, or a number of other reasons.
Tio Choco, a TikToker, decided to investigate. “Doing exceptions—looking for items the pickers ‘couldn’t find,’” he writes in the video’s text overlay.
He then moves around the store, and finds a total of six items that a picker had marked as being unavailable, demonstrating that customers might be being lied to about these items.
People praise Walmart worker

“The way my anger is set up… I’d quickly be out of a job. Do they get in trouble when you find the items?” one asked, clearly fired up.
“Yes,” Tio wrote back, suggesting that pickers could get in trouble if they failed to collect an available item.
“A couple days ago I placed a $100+ order. Final total was $3.38 cus’ all my shopper could find was the Takis,” one customer revealed.
“I swear, sometimes it’s like they’re hiding it on purpose though, so they don’t have to get it and do anything,” another frustrated customer wrote.
Another Walmart worker went viral when they called out customers for “scamming other shoppers.”
