Tottenham Hotspur star James Maddison and Brentford forward Neal Maupay clashed on the pitch and have continued to trade taunts off the pitch following Wednesday’s fiery clash in North London.
Maupay opened the scoring at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and celebrated by mimicking Maddison’s well known darts celebration, which led to the pair exchanging words.
But Maddison had the last laugh, as Spurs hit back with three quick fire second half goals to render Ivan Toney’s strike a mere consolation in their 3-2 win.
Speaking after the game, Maddison told TNT Sports: “I just said to him he probably hasn’t scored enough goals of his own in the last few years to have his own celebration so he had to copy mine.”
But Maupay hit back on Instagram, as he posted: “Went a bit early with that one. Gutted we couldn’t get the win. More goals and less relegations in my career than James Maddison. We go again Monday Bees.”

Ian Wright’s hilarious advice for Maupay
Former Arsenal forward Ian Wright was known for being a wind up to opposition defenders and he had some brilliant advice for Maupay.
“He is right with what he said there. He went too early. I would never have gone that early,” Wright said on Match of the Day.
“They have lost 23 points from winning positions, you have got to wait, man, and then you can start going into him.
“I thought Maddison’s comeback was good but that one [from Maupay] is a bit deeper and nasty.”
