Ederson will not be too keen to watch the first-half highlights from Manchester City’s game at Copenhagen, regardless of how the Champions League last-16 encounter ends up.
The Blues romped into the knockout phase by topping their group with maximum points, and as a result were handed a favourable draw against the Danish side.
City’s early dominance suggested a routine victory might be on the cards, with Kevin De Bruyne giving the visitors a deserved lead after 10 minutes.
However, after looking completely untroubled in the opening half an hour, Ederson put his team in all kinds of trouble by passing the ball straight to a Copenhagen player under no pressure.
After an initial shot was blocked, the ball fell to Magnus Mattsson, who brilliantly curled the ball into the corner from the edge of the box.
Thankfully for Ederson, City were soon back in front as Bernardo Silva netted on the stroke of half-time.
Of course, that didn’t spare him the mockery from rival supporters, particularly Liverpool fans, who take pride in boasting that they are the Premier League team with the best Brazilian goalkeeper.

One wrote: “Alisson would never do what Ederson just did btw,” while another said: “Never compare Ederson to Alisson again please and thank you.”
Unsurprisingly, Ederson and Alisson are not as vitriolic towards each other as the fans of the teams they play for are.
Ederson confirmed last year that he has a good relationship with Alisson, saying: “I think it’s a good sign for all the goalkeepers in Brazil and for the country.
“You look at Europe and you find two great goalkeepers playing at high level in two of the best clubs. I have a good relationship, not only with Alisson, but also with [former Liverpool players] Firmino and Fabinho.
“When we have a day off in the same day, we sometimes gather, we have a barbecue… It’s difficult with our routine and the amount of games to have the same day off, but we have done it few times before. Our rivalry is only on the pitch.”
