Lisandro Martinez is expected to be out for eight weeks but does not require surgery on the knee injury that forced him off in Manchester United’s win over West Ham.
Martinez required treatment after a second-half collision with Vladimir Coufal and, although he originally attempted to play on, was withdrawn just minutes later.
Martinez has been plagued by foot problems since fracturing a metatarsal in April but returned to the side last month.
However, his comeback only lasted four games and he is now set for another spell on the sidelines.
