Epic Games is hosting a Fortnite Korea Open that will feature some of the game’s best players, Korean esports standouts and K-pop stars.
The Fortnite competitive side will be led by Myth, Tfue and Cloakzy, three huge names that will garner a lot of attention.
In addition to the Fortnite pros, retired Korean Starcraft pros Hong Jin-ho and Lee Jae-dong will be playing. They will be joined by Korean PUBG player YoonRoot.
From the K-Pop side, Gongchan from B1A4, Luda from Cosmic Girls and Mimi from Gugudan will be attending the event.
The event will be held on December 15th at Korea University’s gym. The players will be competing for one billion won ($885,000) in charitable donations.

Chris Pratt, despite being on the promotional poster, will not be attending the event.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star has become the face of Fortnite in Korea and recently a large ad campaign has been released with Pratt taunting the Korean player base.
Fortnite has just been released in Korea in November but PUBG – developed by Korean company Bluehole – is still a popular game in Korean PC Bangs.
Epic will be hoping that events like this and the Pratt ad campaign can start moving the Battle Royale crowd over to Fortnite.
