Epic Games have taken to Twitter to share the exact start date for Season 6 of Fortnite, and it’s not exactly when we were expecting!
Season 5 of the incredibly popular battle royale is coming to a close on or before Tuesday, September 25, and most players assumed that Season 6 would begin on the same day as part of a major patch (because Tuesdays are normally update day).
However, Epic Games have announced that the launch date will, in fact, be on Thursday, September 27, which leads us to believe that weekly challenges could go live immediately!
“Season 6 is now dropping from the Battle Bus on September 27,” the developers say in their short statement.

To celebrate the news, they are also giving all players “an additional 400% Match XP all weekend, from now until September 24 at 8 AM ET (1200 GMT),” which should help you to unlock those final few Season 5 Battle Pass rewards!
