Epic Games have confirmed that they will be taking legal action against the organizers of a disastrous ‘Fortnite Live’ festival in the United Kingdom.
The event, which was held in Norwich, attracted international media attention over the weekend after conning people into believing that the event would be all about Fortnite – in order to sell tickets.
In actual fact, not only was very little of the festival’s attractions related to the popular battle royale game, but it wasn’t even officially licensed by Epic Games.
In an official statement, Epic games have now confirmed that they have started legal proceedings against organizers of the disappointing event.

“The quality of our player experience is incredibly important to us, whether it’s inside the game or at official public events like last year’s Fortnite Pro-Am,” an Epic Games spokesperson told Eurogamer.
“Epic Games was not in any way associated with the event that took place in Norwich and we’ve issued a claim against the organisers in the High Court of London.”

Fortnite Live’s organizer, Exciting Events, reportedly promised to bring the festival back to East Anglia in 2020 despite the backlash. However, the Facebook page for the event has since been deleted and it’s highly unlikely that it will take place again.
