Epic Games have removed the ability to bunny hop from Fortnite Battle Royale in the V6.20 update released for the game on Wednesday, October 24.
Fans of the popular battle royale title had figured out that if you were to use a Shadow Stone and then jump into the Bounce Pits, players could carry the momentum of the opening jump forward as long as they jumped again the moment they hit the ground.
This allowed players to travel great distances in very little time, however players were only able to do it as long as their Shadow Stone was still active.
Unfortunately for those who practised this skill, it appears that Epic Games have considerably reduced it’s effectiveness.
A user named ‘Cyanide814’ tested the technique when the new update officially released, and has reported that it is now impossible to do it, as the game no longer allows you to use your momentum to boost you forward.

Cyanide814 also tested it using the Grappler and Shockwave Grenades, but found the same result. He did note that jumping as soon as you hit the ground after using the glider would boost you forward the first time, but would then stop you dead in your tracks the second you landed.
The bunny hopping technique was patched in the V6.20 update for Fortnite, which saw the introduction of the new Limited Time Mode, Fortnitemares.
The launch of this Limited Time Event got off to a shaky start, however, as Epic Games were forced to disable it just hours after it officially released.
