Fortnite will be ramping up its Halloween theme soon, as Epic Games release the first teaser for an upcoming ‘Fortnitemares’ feature.
Back in October 2017, when Fortnite Battle Royale was still in its infancy, the developers proved their passion for Halloween with special themed skins and weapons, such as the Skull Trooper and the Pumpkin rocket launcher.
Now a year later, Fortnite is the most popular game in the world, and the Halloween time of year has arrived in game with various decorations and remakes of the Skull Trooper skins and others making a comeback.
But it looks like Epic will be stepping it up once again with their Halloween festivities, revealing ‘Fortnitemares’ on October 20.
Fortnitemares was previously a Save the World in event released last October, but this looks like it will be its first introduction to the battle royale portion of the game.
There is no information at all yet as to what Fortnitemares will entail. It could be a new mode, a new set of skins and items, or something else entirely.

The photo attached with the teaser, which was shared on Fortnite’s official Twitter certainly hints at new cosmetic items, with what appears to be a new skin wearing Calamity’s hat, with a cryptic poem:
Costumes and dancing, Partner up, be wise. They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise.

The poem certainly hints at a game mode of some kind, likely duos (“partner up”), but perhaps some kind of sabotage mode, where your partner will turn on you (“They could be friendly, Or a ghoul in disguise“)
The use of the term ‘Ghoul’ will also be of interest to those who are anticipating the return of the Ghoul Trooper skin, which is yet to feature in game for Halloween 2018.
