Professional Fortnite player for FaZe Clan Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore has given his thoughts on the ‘current state’ of the game, since the significant glider redeploy change.
The decision to allow players to redeploy their glider at any time during a match, when jumping from a certain height, has been a contentious one to say the least.
The community, led by the big streamers and YouTubers, have been debating whether it improves the flow and balance of the game, or worsens it, as players are no longer penalized for building high and simply jumping, with their glider, to get down.
Cloak, who won the grand finals of the Fall Skirmish along with FaZe teammate Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney, is widely considered one of the best players in the world, with multiple tournament wins making he and Tfue the number 1 and 2 in total winnings.
His opinion, particularly for competitive play, is valued above most, so when he gave his thoughts on the glider redeploy change, the competitive community’s ears perked up.
Surprisingly to some, Cloak states that “[Fortnite] is in the best state it has ever been in, in my opinion, for competitive-wise. Yes, it can improve, don’t know how, but it can.”

He continues to say that although it can still improve, he believes improvements are being made “in the right direction”.
Other top players seem to share Cloak’s opinion too, such as TSM player Ali “Myth” Kabbani, who said he thought the glider redeploy was “one of the better additions” to the game.
Marksman, a streamer and pro player, thinks that changes could be made to the redeploy system to improve it, including limiting the number of times it can be done per match.
