Epic Games have dropped the latest update for Fortnite Chapter 2, with the April 8 maintenance patch fixing a number of issues that have been affecting the game on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
Epic Games have been releasing updates much more frequently throughout this season than in Chapter 2, Season 1 — when players complained that the developers weren’t doing enough to keep the game fresh and interesting during the longest season in Fortnite’s history.
Following last week’s 12.30 update which introduced the Kingsman Umbrella and Crash Pads, some Fortnite fans were perhaps hoping that we would see even more new content this week. That’s not the case though, with Epic instead prioritizing bugs and performance with the release of a maintenance update on Wednesday, April 8.
With Epic Games choosing not to add any new content, the focus is squarely on improving the quality of life for players as they hunt for Victory Royales, by improving how the game feels and plays so that there aren’t any technical hiccups that could cost them a match.

As has become a tradition in Fortnite Chapter 2, the developers haven’t released any patch notes for players to sink their teeth into as they try to figure out what has changed, but thanks to their official Trello board, we do have a rough idea as to what has been altered.
