The challenges to unlock new styles of the Zadie and Metal Mouth skin styles in Fortnite have been leaked, and they’re both going to involve playing a fair bit of the game’s Creative mode.
The two Rare skins were leaked ahead of the v11.40 update, which launched on January 15, 2020, alongside some big changes such as Sidegrading and the return of the Heavy Assault Rifle.
Now, data-miner ShiinaBR has got their hands on the challenges needed to unlock various styles for each of these skins, which are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
Zadie skin challenges
Unlocking the Zadie skin styles requires some running around in Creative, making use of certain aspects of the map that you might not be able to utilize in the regular battle royale mode.
The challenges are:
- Play any Creative games (3)
- Purchase items from Vending Machines in any Creative match (10)
- Damage players with Pistols in any Creative match (250)
Completing the Vending Machine challenge will unlock a brown/bronze style while completing all three will unlock a white variation.

The Metal Mouth skin styles also require a lot of running around in Creative – so it’s certainly possible to unlock all styles for each skin in one session if you use your time wisely.
The challenges for the Metal Mouth skin styles are:
- Play any Creative games (3)
- Activate or deactivate a Timed Device in any Creative match (10)
- Damage players with Assault Rifles in any Creative match (250)
Similar to the Zadie skin, each challenge unlocks a new style, with the second granting players a white Metal Mouth variation and, by completing them all, the final variation, a brown/bronze style.
It is believed that they might be used in a bundle called Metal Masq, rather than simply being Item Shop pieces.
There is a Pickaxe that apparently comes with the bundle is expected to be called the Spike Mace, with the design being pretty self-explanatory.
Although no date is known for the release of these cosmetics yet, the committed Fortnite data-miners rarely get these things wrong, so expect to see it become available sooner rather than later.
