Epic Games revealed the next stage of Fortnite competitive play following the World Cup and it will be the Championship Series that begins with Season 10.
During a break of the action during the Fortnite World Cup, it was revealed the Championship Series would be coming in Season 10 and it will feature millions of dollars up for grabs, as the World Cup.
“We will be debuting the Fortnite Championship series,” said Sundown. “This will give players a chance to compete against the best of the best where every single result matters with a leaderboard to track results over the course of a season.”
“Follow your favorites players on their quest to become the first season champions with millions of dollars at stake.”
Epic Games didn’t reveal all of the information about the new competitive format but it does sound like the pro community won’t be going away after the World Cup as Epic shows they are still very well invested in the esport side of things.

As Season 10 rapidly approaches, we expect to hear a lot more about what Epic Games have in store for this mode.
It’s exciting for players to have something to look forward to after the World Cup since this was looked at as the last major payday for many players for a while.
Fortnite esports have been largely considered hit or miss but considering the extremely high viewership the World Cup was able to pull it, it’s clear there is an audience for it so Epic will look to keep improving things going forward.
One thing that makes Fortnite so interesting is players from all across the world have an equal opportunity of getting a chunk of a prize pool and the Championship Series sounds like it’ll be the same.
We still don’t have an official launch date for Season 10 but Epic said a teaser for it would be revealed at the World Cup so stay tuned for that.
