Every new Fortnite season brings a wealth of new map changes and locations for players to explore. Chapter 5 started a whole new beginning with a complete overhaul of the map in its first season and now Epic Games is shaking up the Island once again for Season 2.
Chapter 5 Season 2 Myths and Mortals has added 4 brand-new legendary POI locations, which are all home to different Greek gods. These include Mount Olympus, Grim Gate, The Underworld, and Brawler’s Battleground.
Various mid-season updates have followed since this season’s launch, which have shaken up the map even further. This included Aang the Avatar takeover with the in-game Avatar Elements event, which is now replaced with the latest Star Wars crossover content.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Season 2 map, its new POI locations, and any mid-season updates to the Island along the way.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 new map
You will be able to spot minor changes on the Fortnite map since it’s the same Chapter 5 island as the previous season.
Formerly having a larger snowy region which is now reduced to the northeast side of the map, to introducing four new POIs that feature unique Greek-themed buildings and lakes, there’s a lot for you to explore in the game.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 new POIs
Here’s all the new Chapter 5 Season 2 POI locations:
- Mount Olympus
- Grim Gate
- The Underworld
- Brawler’s Battleground
Mount Olympus
Mount Olympus is set to be a key POI location on this Season’s map. As Epic stated: “You can’t have Olympus without Mount Olympus.” It is the home of the Greek god Zeus and features a noticeably large grand monument that graces the mountains behind as it watches down on players.
Grim Gate
Before you can get to The Underworld, you will need to get past Grim Gate by crossing its river. This is home to the three-headed guard dog Cerberus and is located on the west of the Island.
The Underworld
Once you make it past the hounds you will reach the home of Hades, otherwise known as The Underworld. It has various flowing green streams, which constrast against the dry terrain.
Brawler’s Battleground
Finally, Brawler’s Battleground rounds out the 4 new POI locations and is home to the god of war, Ares. Here you can take him up on his challenge as he welcomes a battle. It is located directly south of the Mount Olympus POI towards the bottom right of the Island.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 29.01 update map changes
With the 29.01 update, Midas briefly returned to the Island before being removed in the next update and was able to be found as an NPC wandering around his Marigold yacht. The boat was given a full Midas makeover, which featured various objects, such as his own statue at the center of the main lobby.

Midas’ Service Stations and Vending Machines were also spread out across the Island and would randomly spawn, which gave unique benefits if players were lucky enough to find them. At the Underworld POI, you will also notice his prison cell has been broken open.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 29.20 update map changes
Fortnite’s 29.20 update removed Midas and his Marigold yacht, which can no longer be found on the Island. Instead, the star of the show for this update is Aang the Avatar and the Avatar Elements event.
With the arrival of Aang, water, earth, fire, and air shrines have appeared across the Island. Head inside one of the 8 shrines scattered around the Island and open its container to wield that shrine’s associated bending technique.
To pay homage to the iconic Cabbage seller from the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, various Cart Cabbage locations have also appeared across the Island. The NPC roster has been given another shuffle, with Aang, Katara, Zuko and Toph being placed at different parts of the Battle Royale map.
As well as this, fan-favorite Peely has been added as an NPC with a new small campsite located just south of the Restored Reels POI.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 29.40 update map changes
Fortnite’s latest 29.40 update adds new Star Wars crossover content to the game. This adds five Imperial Roadblocks around the map, with Stormtroopers patrolling the area. These roadblocks also consist of Imperial Chests from where players can acquire the Mythic E-11 Blaster Rifle and Mythic Wookie Bowcaster.
You may also find Chewbacca at one of these spots seeking assistance from players to rescue him from Stormtroopers. You’ll be able to locate him by following the blue smoke signal on the map before jumping out of the Battle Bus.
Furthermore, Darth Vader is now on the map and is located far north of Lavish Lair at Piney Lane landmark, alongside his Lambda shuttle and patrolling Stormtroopers.
You can find him at the same location in every match and you can eliminate him to claim his Red Mythic Lightsaber, which is the only lightsaber in the game as of now.
