Fortnite’s crossover with Family Guy has raised a lot of questions, especially after the arrival of Ernie the Giant Chicken. Players are now arguing their case that Epic could’ve made Peter’s “proportions” work.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 ushered in a crossover with an unexpected hit, Family Guy. Progressing to level 70 in the Battle Pass unlocks Peter Griffin, albeit with a gigachad look.
Peter’s arrival caused a stir, notably because the character’s appearance doesn’t match his usual physique. Players were confused as to why this was the case, and with the arrival of Peter’s rival, Ernie the Giant Chicken, the confusion only heightened as many wanted Peter in all his glory.
As the dust settles after the launch of the Giant Chicken skin, players are arguing Peter’s default appearance could’ve worked perfectly fine in-game.
Fortnite players claim “Fat Peter” could work
To recap, the commotion around Ernie the Giant Chicken is focused on the character’s model. Typically, Fortnite models are smaller in size, due to concerns of hitbox issues and general visibility problems. However, Ernie threw that misconception out of the window due to his large stature, although this has raised fears of it being “pay to lose.”

With Ernie in-game, players are now “showing” Peter Griffin’s typical stature could’ve worked in Fortnite. Fortnite player invisibile_grass is one of the many, as they shared a side-by-side of both character models, in response to a post stating it’s not possible.
Many agreed it should be possible. “Optimus Primal is a pretty big skin and some other skins are huge. I don’t see why Peter wouldn’t work,” one player stated.
Others argued it could’ve been a quality choice: “Don’t emotes and everything clip like hell on the chicken though? I can imagine they didn’t want a BP skin to have that many “quality issues.” Other skeptics are convinced it’s part of a ploy to sell him in the shop at some point.
No matter where you stand, series creator, Seth MacFarlane, stated Peter’s design is the way it is because Epic Games didn’t have the resources to make the character’s actual body in Fortnite.
