November 20’s v6.30 Content Update marked the release of Fortnite’s all-new ‘Dynamite’ explosive item, but it was disabled shortly after release due to client crashes.
However, some players got the chance to try it out before the developers were forced to disable it, which means that we’ve already got a pretty good idea of what it will be capable of when it returns.
One of those players was Team Liquid’s Ryan ‘Chap’ Chaplo, and the professional star wasted no time in showing just how powerful it will be against building and structures!
“One layer here, one here, put one down here,” Chap said as he all three of his Dynamite sticks in one of Tilted Towers’ buildings. “Oh nice, I blew up all of Tilted Towers!”
The stack of Dynamite was enough to completely wreck the building, and Chap clearly wasn’t happy to see it in the game, saying: “Can someone link me the clip for that so I can post that on Twitter real fast please?”
When the clip did make its way to Twitter, the Liquid star’s only comment was: “R.I.P building 2017-2018.”

With Dynamite dealing out a staggering 800 damage per explosion to structures, and coming in stacks of three, it’s easy to see why Chap is concerned about the impact it will have on the game.

Originally announced on November 19 via the in-game news section, Dynamite allows players to light a fuse and then stand back to watch everything around them explode.
A client crashing issue meant that it was removed after being live for less than an hour, but it is expected to be enabled again as soon as the developers have found a fix.
It will be interesting to see whether Chap’s initial concerns prove to be correct or whether players will find a way of easily countering the latest addition to the game.
