We’re now into the third week of Fortnite Season 8, and that means new challenges are now live for players trying to rank up their Battle Pass.
Unsurprisingly, Fortnite fans will have seven new challenges to try and complete, with three that are open to anyone who plays the game, and four more only available to players who purchased the Season 8 Battle Pass.
Battle Pass owners who complete all seven of the week’s challenges will then unlock a special loading screen, which can then be used to find the hidden Battle Star for players attempting to complete the Season 8 Discovery challenges.
The official Season 8 Week 3 challenges are now live, but thanks to some leaks from data miners, we already had a good idea as to what we can expect when they are officially released.
Fortnite players will be forced to travel far and wide across the Fortnite map once again to get their hands on those precious Battle Stars, much like last week’s challenges.

Week 3 Discovery Challenge
Fortnite’s Discovery challenge continues with Week 3 of Season 8, with players once again searching for the elusive Battle Star that has been hidden somewhere on the map.
Once you’ve finished all seven of this week’s challenges, head over to our guide which will show you how to find the secret Fortnite Battle Star for Week 3 of the Discovery challenge.
Get an elimination with an SMG, pistol and a sniper rifle. [10]
Fortnite fans will have a chance to test their gun skill, as this challenge requires players to find eliminations with an SMG, a pistol and a sniper rifle.
Players don’t need to get all three eliminations in one match, so don’t worry if you can’t find all the weapons you need to complete the challenge.
Search chests at Sunny Steps or Fatal Fields [5]
Fairly self-explanatory, players will need to head to Fatal Fields in the south of the map or Sunny Steps which sits to the east of the large volcano and open seven chests to complete this challenge.

Deal headhsot damage to opponents [10]

Stage 1: Destroy cacti in the desert [1]
Another simple one, Fortnite players will need to head to the desert area in the southwest corner of the map and start destroying the cacti that are littered around the sandy wasteland. Once you’ve destroyed 30 of them, you’ll be rewarded with your Battle Stars.
Search where the magnifying glass sits on the Treasure Map loading screen [5]
Fortnite fans will have to use their powers of deduction to complete this challenge, as they’ll need to find the location on the Fortnite map that is covered on the Treasure Map loading screen.
Players are looking for a circle of trees just south of Polar Peake, and should be able to interact with the Battle Star once they land there.
Place different trap slot items in a single match [10]
Fairly straightforward again, Fortnite players simply need to place different traps around the Fortnite map in a single match. Players need to place 2 to earn the reward is currently unknown, and can put down Spike Traps, Campfires or Mounted Turrets to complete this challenge.
Stage 1: Visit Fatal Fields and Salty Springs in a single match [1]
Fortnite fans will have to travel far and wide to complete this challenge, as they are required to visit a number of Fortnite’s most popular locations.
This challenge is split into three stages, meaning players may want to use some of the game’s vehicles such as the Driftboard or The Baller to quickly hit these areas.
- Stage 1: Visit Fatal Fields and Salty Springs in a single match
