It’s taken almost a year, but a new console world record for most kills in Solo vs Squads in Fortnite has finally been set – and then beaten again, all in a matter of two weeks.
Brazilian player SlayLeo managed an incredible 41 kill game, smashing what was believed to be the previous record of 38 kills, by French player Ft-Fateu, who had boasted the record since April 2018.
The previous record of 38 lasted for almost a year, but another player, German ApoKxwaii, had in fact bested this record on February 22, 2019 – going one better than SlayLeo.
It’s still a long way off the PC record for Solo vs Squads however, which is currently held by Ghost Gaming player Kamo with an incredible 46.
PC records in general are slightly higher than console, with the exception of console Squad kills record, which is the only record to manage over 60 kills (61 total).
You can watch SlayLeo’s 41 kill gameplay below, but despite this incredible number of kills, it still wasn’t enough to take the overall world record.

As mentioned, ApoKxwaii has since provided evidence of his 42 kill game, which now rightfully holds the solo vs squads world record on console.
This latest feat means that 2019 has seen five new Fortnite world records set already, which some players believe is a down to the meta of the game encouraging more aggressive play – allowing the best players to rack up more eliminations that ever before.
