$250,000 is life-changing amount of money for a majority of people, especially if it’s for someone young winning a massive gaming tournament.
This is the case for competitive Fortnite player ‘Morgausse,’ who won $225K for placing first at the Summer Skirmish tournament at PAX West, and an additional $25K for winning one of the seven matches in the grand final.
While many may not have known of him coming into this event, Morgausse has quickly established himself as a household name, as he came out on top in a lobby of players that featured some of the biggest and best Fortnite players in the world, including FaZe Clan’s TFUE and Team Liquid’s 72Hrs and POACH.
As one would expect, his reaction to receiving the news that he had placed first place and won a quarter of a million dollars was of pure shock and disbelief, mixed in with a bit of hilariously running around.
After the shock and adrenaline rush had finally ebbed a way, Morgausse stopped for an interview in which he emotionally thanked his family, friends, and supporters, while also admitting that his performance over the weekend had exceeded all of his own expectations.

While $250K is admittedly a lot of money, the Summer Skirmish champion confessed that the enormity of the amount had not really sunk in yet.
When asked what words of advice he wanted to give to the tens of thousands of viewers who had watching him win, Morgausse preached that hard work, dedication, and patience are all required in order to reach success.
