Another major update of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, 28.20, has arrived and brings a much-awaited collab and more. Here are the patch notes and everything that’s new.
Halfway through the first season of Fortnite Chapter 5, players are getting ready for the last month of Season 1 before the new one starts on March 8. The addition of new game modes and other significant tweaks to the gameplay have kept the player community busy this season.
On top of that, the previous release and numerous partnerships over the season brought hotfixes to the game. As with Fortnite patch 28.20, players will be able to participate in a new collaborative event starring the infamous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Fortnite update v28.20 was released on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 4 AM PT / 6 AM ET / 12 Noon BST.
Downtime for this update has ended and the servers are now live, so you can jump back in whenever you want!

TMNT collab event
An official announcement post by Fortnite on X/Twitter revealed that a new TMNT-themed collab event will arrive on February 9, 2024, as a countdown and event tab is now active in the game. Furthermore, themed quests as well have started to appear in the quests tab, the first of which is April O’Neil Investigates! quests.
The collab files are now added to game files with the 28.20 update which includes the Shredder and Master Splinter Skin as well as other TMNT-themed Fortnite Festival instruments.
The event brings a Mini-Pass as well for players to purchase and claim themed rewards by unlocking several tiers.
TMNT new Mythic weapons
Four new TMNT Mythic items, special supply drops, and a Hoverboard have all been added to Fortnite v28.20 ahead of the TMNT event slated to arrive on February 9th. These are weapons that each member of the team uses in the animated series and they are also in-game pickaxes.
The weapons will only be available from the supply drops when these are added to the game. A leaked video of Leonardo’s Katanas shows the weapon in action which has a swing as well as a charged attack.

LEGO Fortnite new weapon and more
A new 28.20 patch has hit LEGO Fortnite and brings a new Hunting Dagger and several changes to the gameplay. Furthermore, more skins and emotes have received an additional LEGO style.
When it comes to gameplay fixes, players have received significant changes to the Sandbox mode and building limits as well as survival mode with general bug fixes.
New Rocket Racing tracks, McLaren vehicle & Festival updates
The 28.20 update for Rocket Racing adds new tracks and a new McLaren collaboration bringing the car skins and more items into the game.
Furthermore, Fortnite Festival has received a new collection of instruments and TMNT-themed Jam Tracks alongside support for the upcoming Riffmaster controller for the game.
New story quests
Ever since the beginning of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, players have been tasked with an Underground mission to find the kidnapped Peely and rescue him. However, the story quests so far have only tasked players with getting accustomed to the new gameplay and getting familiar with the Society enemies.
Now with update 28.20 players received a brand-new set of story quests called Find Peely, which were only active for newer players. The update opened the questline to all the players as well as added more challenges to reward players with bonus XP and additional rewards.
New skins
Fortnite has been teasing new skins with Icon Series emote teasers lately and players are wondering about their release date in the Item Shop. However, with the update 28.20, these skins finally make their way to the shop and ends the drought of some fresh cosmetics that the players have been waiting for quite some time.
These skins include the much-awaited Comet skin as well as several additional styles for existing cosmetic items. Furthermore, it has also been hinted that more Family Guy skins are coming to the game soon, so make sure to keep an eye out in the Item Shop with each reset.
