Avatar The Last Airbender collab
A new Fortnite x Avatar The Last Airbender collaboration has finally arrived in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2. While the existing Korra skin is a free bonus reward for Battle Pass owners, players can now purchase the Toph, Zuko, and Katara skins from the Item Shop.
Furthermore, Avatar Aang skin will be launched in an event pass when the in-game collab event begins on April 12, 2024, which means with the update 29.20, files for the same have now been added to the game. That said, each skin comes with its own LEGO style as well.
New Mythic items
Alongside the Avatar collab event, three new Mythic items have also been added to the existing loot pool with the Fortnite 29.20 update. While the event hits later, the Mythic weapons are now added in the game.
These weapons are called Elemental Bending items and are similar to Korra’s Waterbending mythic, however are based on other elements such as fire, wind, and earth as other Avatar characters in the series.
Rocket Racing Season 1
The update 29.20 also brings the first season of Rocket Racing game mode. The Neon Rush update brings five new tracks, cars, and more cosmetic items to Fortnite.

Locker and Item Shop changes
For the first time since its launch, Fortnite has decided to remove cosmetic rarities from player’s lockers.
In a blog post, Epic stated, “The Shop has evolved significantly to support multiple types of cosmetics and items across games, so we’re retiring the old Battle Royale-inspired system of colors and tags for cosmetic quality. Different Series of cosmetics — such as the Icon Series or Gaming Legends Series — will still be there to help you find your favorite stuff!”
Furthermore, they also offered clarity on the Item Shop timer situation and announced an upcoming feature as they wrote, “We recently removed the overall Shop refresh timer, and instead show the Shop rotation time in every player’s unique time zone. Beginning in late May 2024, we will also add the planned date that every individual item will rotate out of the Shop to the item’s description page.”
New skins
Several new Fortnite skins were added to the game files with the new update, which will soon hit the Item Shop.
These include the Apollo skin, Harpy Haze skin, Toshiro skin, and Champion Siren outfit which is an FNCS-themed skin for the 2024 season.
New quests
With every Fortnite update, new quests are added to the game which helps players level up. The 29.20 update adds the next phase of Story quests, a new section of Weekly Quests, and unlocks the second page of Quest Rewards for players to claim.
Furthermore, the update also fixes issues with the level 200 Hades skin that players were having trouble unlocking.
