Fortnite’s Mod Benches may be gone, but you can still put a little work on your weapon with Upgrade Benches, which make a return in Fortnite Remix Chapter 2.

These benches can make your weapons go from Uncommon to Legendary – if you’ve got the resources for it. Unlike Vending Machines and NPCs, they won’t take your gold ingots.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to find all Upgrade Benches in Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 and how they work in the game.

How to upgrade a weapon in an Upgrade Bench

To upgrade a weapon in one of the Upgrade Benches, you must locate one and spend Wood, Stone, and Metal to enhance it to the next level of rarity in Battle Royale. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need for each upgrade:

You can only use Upgrade Benches in Battle Royale mode. Since you can’t get materials in Zero Build modes, these benches aren’t available in this mode.

Weeping Woods southwest

Southeast of Weeping Woods, you’ll find a cabin called Logjam Woodworks. Inside this cabin lies one of the Upgrade Benches you can use to increase your weapon’s rarity.

If you visit Weeping Woods, look for the large house surrounded by trees. Here, you’ll spot another Upgrade Bench.

Salty Springs

In Salty Springs, you’ll notice the white arrow leads you to a blue house. To find the Upgrade Bench here, climb the stairs tot he second floor and break the ceiling with your pickaxe.

The Doggpound

Snoop Dogg not only has secret scan chests, the Drum Gun mythic, and a vault, but he also hides an Upgrade Bench in his basement, though you might have to break some vents to get there.

Lazy Lake island

Southwest of Lazy Lake, you’ll spot two tiny islands. In the longest one, you’ll find a workshop with another Upgrade Bench inside.

Lazy Lake

Lazy Lake itself also houses a garage that has an Upgrade Bench right at the heart of the town.

Frenzy Farm

Near the fields of Frenzy Farm, you’ll spot a barn holding one of the Upgrade Benches.

Frenzy Farm’s northeast

Northeast of Frenzy Farm lies a Gas Station with a porta-potty that can teleport you to a hidden underground area. Once inside, look for the Upgrade Bench.

Dirty Docks

In the north portion of Dirty Docks, you can find a facility with another Upgrade Bench.

Dirty Docks northwest

On the north outskirts of Dirty Docks, there’s a military encampment where you can find another Upgrade Bench.

Steamy Stacks

Steamy Stacks has its own bench which you can use inside a storage room in the center of this POI.
