The Fortnite v10.20 Content Update has officially gone live on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, and brings with it a brand new trap item, plus a major map change.
[ad name=”article1″]
Unlike main updates for the game, Fortnite Content Updates don’t include as many new items or balancing changes, but that doesn’t mean they can’t dramatacially alter how the game is played.
The v10.20 Content Update introduces a brand new trap for players to catch unsuspecting enemies in, while Season 10 sees the return of another classic location to the game’s map.

Zapper Trap
Fortnite players have a brand new weapon to wield thanks to the v10.20 Content Update in the form of the Zapper Trap, which will electricute anyone who gets too close.
Unlike other traps, the Zapper actually takes up a space in your inventory, and is classified as a thrown consumable rather than a trap item. The Epic rarity items can be found in stacks of two around the map, and creates a damaging trap on both sides of a building piece, or actually constructs one if their is no wall there already. Dealing 50 damage to players who get within one tile of them, opponents will have just two seconds to escape out of range before it fires again.
Zapper Trap patch notes
- This item is a thrown consumable and occupies an inventory slot.
- On impact, the thrown object deploys a damaging trap on both sides of a building piece.
- Upon impacting terrain, it automatically builds a wall and then deploys a damaging trap on both sides of the wall.
- The traps shock enemy players who are within a tile of their face.
- Damage: 50
- The traps have a 1-second deploy time before they can be triggered.
- When triggered, the traps have a 0.5-second delay before firing.
- After the traps have fired, they have a cooldown of 2 seconds before they can be triggered again.
- The traps shock enemy players who are within a tile of their face.
- Epic Rarity.
- Found from Floor Loot, Chests, Vending Machines, Supply Drops, and Llamas.
- Drops in stacks of 2.
- Max stack size: 4.

Floating Island
The Floating Island has also returned, with the massive land mass hovering over the map and creating a low-gravity vortex that will sweep you up to it if you would like to pay it a visit.
The island will move across the map throughout Season 10, and has also brought with it the return of the Motel, a popular location that made way for The Block at the start of Season 9.
The v10.20 Content Update also brings two new prefabs for Creative Mode, plus some recaps on the recent issues that Epic Games have managed to fix since the v10.20 Update released.

Anything else?
Epic Games usually throws a curveball or two with the patches so we’re sure to see something else that hasn’t been leaked with this update.
Major map changes are always something to look for with Season 10 updates and it’s possible the Loot Lake transformation could be arriving here.
We will update this post with the complete 10.20 content update notes when they drop so keep an eye out for those.
