Epic Games announced the release date and time for the upcoming v9.30 update in Fortnite Battle Royale and here’s everything we know so far about the update.
As we inch closer to the Fortnite World Cup, the team at Epic is preparing to drop another update that sounds like it’ll be introducing a new shield into the game.
Unlike previous patches, we don’t have a good idea with what’s actually coming in this update, outside of Epic Games hinting at a “refreshing new beverage.”
When does v9.30 go live?
The v9.30 update in Fortnite will go live on Wednesday, April 17 at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM GMT. Downtime will begin at that time as well so look for your matches to conclude roughly a half hour before.
A refreshing new beverage arrives in the v9.30 update tomorrow, June 18. It'll hit the spot! :ocean::beach_with_umbrella:️
Downtime begins at 4 AM ET (0800UTC).

v9.30 confirmed additions and changes
As mentioned earlier, there’s surprisingly not a whole lot that we know of on the horizon for a change.

There have been a couple of hints like we saw with the beverage, but there haven’t been any solid leaks giving us a look at what’s actually coming.
For the first time in a while, this seems like a patch that will actually be a surprise.
What to expect in v9.30
Epic Games debuted the trailer for a new Flare Gun which means that could potentially be coming with this update. The new beverage sounds like it’ll be a shield or healing item of some sort, as that’s what all of the drinks have been in Fortnite so far.
Audio improvements could also be on the way with this patch as they were confirmed as being worked on, but no actual ETA has been given.
As with most updates, minor map changes and cosmetics will likely be on the way.
