Fortnite‘s latest season, Chapter 5 Season 2, introduces a new look to the popular title — a Greek-mythologically-themed season.
Yet upon the season’s launch, fans had trouble dropping into the titular title, with many stuck on a prompt telling players to restart their game.

How to restart Fortnite
Restarting Fortnite should clear any problems you have, and while it’s simple, the process is different depending on the platform you play on.
Restarting Fortnite on PS5
- Hold the PS button
- Navigate to the Fortnite icon and hit the X button
- Select “Options” followed by “Close Application”
- On PS4, hold the PS button and select “Close Application”
Restarting Fortnite on Xbox
- Press the Xbox button and go to the Home Screen
- Select Fortnite and then hit the Menu button
- Press “Quit” to close the game
Restarting Fortnite on PC
- Click on your icon in the top right side of the screen
- Scroll down to the red exit icon
- Select “Close Fortnite”
Restarting Fortnite on Nintendo Switch
- Press the Home button
- Press the X button to “Close Software”
