It looks like one of the earliest limited time weapons is returning to Fortnite Battle Royale for the Halloween season.
The iconic Pumpkin Rocket Launcher looks to be on its way back in Fortnite for the first time in a year, as it made its first and only appearance in the game during October of 2017.
Eric Williams, Design Lead for Fortnite Battle Royale at Epic Games, posted a cryptic message on Twitter that most old-school players immediately understood.
thoomp heheheh… WAAAH :jack_o_lantern:

The “thoomp” and “WAAAH” sound effects were unique to the Pumpkin Launcher when it was enabled during last year’s Halloween celebrations.
Those who played the game at the time will also remember that the weapon was what started the rocket riding trend in Fortnite, as the launcher’s large collision created a bug that allowed players to stand on rockets.

If added, the Pumpkin Launcher would likely be released as part of the ‘Fortnitemares’ event in Fortnite, which will celebrate the Halloween season in-game with a variety of themed cosmetic items, Limited Time Modes, and spooky map changes.
The start and end times of Fortnitemares was announced by Epic Games earlier in the day, along with a series of teaser images that make one larger image.
The Pumpkin Launcher has not been the only themed weapon to be added to Fortnite. During the winter and spring, the Grenade Launcher was modified to shoot snowballs and Easter eggs respectively.
