The most controversial weapon in Fortnite’s history looks set to make a return in the manner that many had originally suggested.
Released in the v7.01 update on December 11, the Infinity Blade was swiftly met with harsh backlash from the community, ultimately leading to the weapon’s Vaulting on December 14.
Despite seemingly having been locked away for a long time, leaks found in the v7.10 game files on December 18 point to the weapon’s return with a special twist.
Fortnite data miner Lucas7Yoshi found some game files that suggest the Infinity Blade will indeed return to Fortnite in the form of a Limited Time Mode (LTM) called “Blades.”
There was no additional information included with the leaks that explain all of the details of the leak, but it would make sense given that many players called for the Infinity Blade to be in its own LTM in the first place.

With the ’14 Days of Fortnite’ event also kicking off on December 19 with a number of new and returning LTMs being available each day, the latest leak seems to fit in perfectly.
As with any leak, however, there’s no guarantee that it will ever come to fruition as Epic doesn’t always put everything found in the files into the actual game.
