To keep gameplay smooth across all devices, Fortnite often undergoes maintenance, leading to sever downtime where they’ll temporarily go offline.
While scheduled maintenance and downtime are typically announced well before the next Fortnite update, unexpected server crashes, unscheduled downtime, and urgent hotfixes can sometimes cause them to go down without warning.
This often prompts players to check Fortnite’s server status for real-time updates, so here’s the current status in-game and how long any current downtime will last.
Is Fortnite down right now?
Fortnite’s servers are currently online and operational after Epic Games completed its scheduled downtime for the 32.10 update, which began at 4 AM ET / 1 AM PT / 9 AM GMT on November 13, 2024.
However, this Week 3 Remix update will not be implemented into the game until November 14. This time the patch centers around adding Ice Spice to the Battle Royale. The rap star joins with her own Ice Isle POI and the Ice Spice Grappler and Ice Spice Rifle Mythics.
The game also experienced Xbox console issues on November 6, 2024, which was reported by Xbox Support on X — but this has now been resolved. No other platforms were impacted by the problem.
Prior to the sudden Xbox outage, Fortnite’s servers were down for scheduled maintenance on November 2, 2024, to prepare for the new Chapter 2 Remix season update.

When will Fortnite’s servers be back up?
Fortnite’s servers are now back up following the 32.10 update’s downtime completion. The server maintenance began at 4 AM ET on November 13, with the game’s servers going back live at 7:30 AM ET / 4:30 AM PT / 12:30 AM GMT.
For larger seasonal updates, downtime can extend to around 4 hours, and the previous Remix season update kept Fortnite servers offline for 5 hours and 30 minutes.
How to check Fortnite server status
To see if the game’s servers are down or offline outside of this page, you’ll need to visit the Fortnite server status page on Epic Games’ official website.
If servers are not responding or are labeled “Under Maintenance,” players may experience disruptions. A green “Operational” label means the game is running normally.
When an issue is flagged, or downtime begins, it will be noted and highlighted. You can click on the plus symbol next to ‘Fortnite’ if you want more information about any specific service like parties, voice chat, stats, and more.
