A new data mine of the Fortnite game files has revealed that a full-snow version of the current Battle Royale may be in the works and released during the holiday season.
Fans have already been treated to plenty of holiday cheer in-game with the addition of the snow biome to the south-west. Christmas-themed player skins and weapon wraps have also been added since the release of Fortnite Season 7 on December 6.
As time has gone on there have been changes to the snowy part of the map with Polar Peak slowly melting away to reveal a castle. However, it doesn’t appear as if the rest of the snow is going to be melting just yet.
New datamined leaks from Twitter user and known Fortnite leaker FortTroy have shown that a fully-fledged snow version of the map may be in the works.
At the minute, only the south-west corner of the map is covered by the wintery weather but this new map, named Athena Snow, shows the full map covered in snow – including the current desert biome to the south-east.

Whilst this new map is not confirmed, plenty of recent datamined files and leaks have been introduced to the game.

The recently-vaulted Infinity Blade had been datamined by leakers and suspected to be a limited time mode before its introduction into the battle royale mode. While the leaks may have been just slightly off base with that, there’s a chance we could see this become reality in the near future.
