Epic Games are known for keeping Fortnite Battle Royale players on their toes with the amount of new content that’s added on a regular basis, and the game’s v8.30 content update might well have given away the next major change.
Clues in the v8.30 Fortnite update
Military buildings have been added to Fortnite’s Creative mode in the latest patch, increasing the chances of the developer introducing an army-themed point of interest to the map in the near future.
Those who have jumped into Creative will be aware that there’s already a plethora of themed buildings in the mode already, whether it be general housing that’s been in the game since day one, or more thematic builds like those seen at Lucky Landing.
Eagle-eyed Fortnite fans will have also noticed another potential clue. A helicopter is currently moving from place to place as well. With the introduction of military buildings, coupled by the mysterious chopper – which may finally stop at the destination where Epic decide to build a military base – it does look very likely that an army themed point of interest is in the works.
When is a military location coming to Fortnite?
While it’s merely speculation at this stage, there’s a good chance that Epic could be looking towards Season 9 to implement the next drastic change to the map, or – depending on the planned scale of a military section – it could arrive in some capacity during Season 8.
There’s also a chance that community creators could use military buildings as part of their submissions to be added to The Block. However, if something is in the works for a themed area of the map, this is potentially the most unlikely route.

What could a military location replace in Fortnite?
The Fortnite map has experienced some huge changes in Season 8, particularly in the north and northeast sections, with the introduction of a Volcano, Sunny Steps, Lazy Lagoon, as well as other locations.
However, there are some areas that might well have served their purpose. The likes of Frosty Flights – which was seemingly built for planes – doesn’t quite fit in anymore, since X-4 Stormwings were vaulted at the start of the season, on February 28.
Another location that a military base could replace in Fortnite is the desert biome, where there’s a lot of open space, or possibly even in the region of Junk Junction and Haunted Hills.
Fortnite’s military buildings
Military buildings were added to Creative mode on April 10 and we will update this article shortly with first-look images of the designs, as well as some more details.
