Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins couldn’t believe his eyes after being wrecked by a pump shotgun in Fortnite Battle Royale, striking him down a whopping 144 HP with a single shot.
It’s been well documented that the pump shotguns have been severely nerfed in Fortnite over time, with it being one of the most popular weapons in previous seasons, but since a new version was released in Chapter 2 it’s been nowhere near as effective as its predecessor, or so we thought.
During a Mixer stream, Ninja was building during a battle before finally leaving the structure to engage in battle, only to be totally wiped out with one bullet. Completely unheard of, we know, and that would explain his immediate reaction.
“Brooo, with the blue pump? There’s no way in hell man,” he screamed after being eliminated. “There’s no way that he fadeaway’d me like that, dude, zero percent chance with the blue f**king pump shotgun.”
What made the shot even more remarkable was the fact that his enemy leapt into the air, hip fired and wasn’t even aiming for Ninja’s head during the whole fight. “I can’t do that much damage with the Spas,” he later explained.
He was so shocked by the elimination that he managed to find the player in Replay mode and watched the gameplay, which revealed it was indeed a 144 damage shot.

The streamer even tested the damage with a gray pump in the respawn island, which deals 140 at point blank range for headshots, making the damage of that fade away, from such a range, pretty miraculous.
“I can play this game all day and only use a blue pump shotgun and I promise you from that distance I will never hit for 144 – promise you,” he added. “I could be inside someone’s head, ADS-ing at somebody’s face and hit less than 150. There’s no way. What a f**king joke, man.”
With a lack of patch notes being released during the course of Fortnite Chapter 2, it’s unclear as to whether or not the damage stats of the pump shotgun have been changed via an update.
The game’s next major update is coming on February 20, where – for all we know – the shotgun or any other weapon may be sent to the vault.
Ninja didn’t call for it to be removed, but it did question whether or not a shot like this should be “legal” and having seen the footage, not many would argue with that.
