Popular Twitch streamer Ali ‘SypherPK’ Hassan has explained why Fortnite has “felt unsatisfying” for him to broadcast in recent months, citing a variety of issues plaguing the game.
With the release of Valorant’s closed beta, many of the top pros and streamers have shifted their attention to Riot Games’ new FPS, with some even announcing their departure from Epic Games’ title.
During his April 11 broadcast, streamer SypherPK explained what he thought of the biggest streaming stars, such as DrLupo and Courage, leaving Fortnite lately and revealed why he thinks the game has lost its fun.
Sypher, who has been one of the top streamers since the game’s launch, reflected on the current state of Fortnite and explained to his viewers how players were no longer excited to queue up each day.
“What happened to playing squads in the morning with the boys, people were excited to watch the content creators get on and squad up and try out the new content,” he said, highlighting some of the game’s most entertaining points.
“Do you notice that every time we’ve played squads in the last 6 months, it devolves into us going ‘Oh my god, we’re just getting stream sniped by sweaty players,’” he added.
He explained that, with the addition of skill-based matchmaking, playing Fortnite as a streamer had become much more difficult than before, “with SBMM there’s a smaller pool of people to play with, which means it’s easier to get stream sniped.”

Sypher also highlighted some issues with the current map state and meta, claiming, “you spend most of the lobby trying to find people because everyone’s dead in the first ten minutes so the games themselves don’t feel satisfying to play out.”
He also shared that it had become nearly impossible to play with other streamers, such as Ninja or NICKMERCS, because of SBMM and that the feature was ‘throwing the fun out’ of Fortnite.
In general, SypherPK thinks that content creation has been totally “ruined”, for numerous reasons. “On all fronts, random duos, squads with the boys, checking out new content, just ruined.”
He also criticized Epic Games for their lack of communication for the competitive scene too.
This is not the first time that Sypher has raised concerns around the potential downfalls of SBMM and previously explained why he believes it is ruining Fortnite for casual players.
