The first day of qualifiers at the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish is complete, with pro player Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan of Team Liquid taking the top spot.
In total, the $1.5 million tournament will have three days of qualification matches, with the top 33 players from each final heat advancing to the final tournament on Tuesday, September 4.
The event is not invitational, but rather hopefuls must register on the day of the qualifier, and will be entered on a first come, first serve basis.
After a long day of competition on Friday, August 31, 33 players advanced, with Team Liquid’s 72hrs in the top spot.
FaZe Clan’s newest addition, Nate Hill, qualified in the sixth spot, while Rise Nation’s Jamal “Whea7s” Lee, formerly a pro Call of Duty player, snagged his spot with 11th place. FaZe Clan’s Replays (the YouTuber not the pro CoD player) also snuck in to the top 16.
