FaZe Clan star Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney has won his first Fortnite Battle Royale Champion Series after breaking up with duo Dennis ‘Cloak’ Lepore with a whole new squad.
Tfue and Cloak were thought to be the inseparable duo. The two had been competing under the FaZe banner for over a year, dominating the competition online and at events like TwitchCon 2018.
However, after a very public breakup involving Cloak, Thomas ‘72hrs’ Mulligan, and $140,000 of missed partnership deals, Tfue split from his long-time partner to start anew.
It didn’t take long for the Twitch superstar to find success with his new trio though, as he, Alex ‘Fiber’ Bonetello, and ‘Khanada’ took down the rest of the competition in the Fortnite Champion Series Trios event in week five.
The trio started off the weekend shaky after missing the first half hour of September 14’s block, meaning they were only able to play eight of their nine games. That didn’t stop them from coming in fifth with 131 points, only 21 points behind first, and 83 eliminations.

Tfue’s squad had a quieter performance on Sunday in the finals, with 124 points and 64 eliminations, but it was enough to secure first place over the likes of defending Fortnite World Cup champion Kyle ‘Bugha’ Giersdorf and his team.
The Fortnite star posted the results on Twitter, simply captioned “let’s f**king go.”

While neither of the three winners streamed their gameplay this week, Khanada followed Bugha throughout the final game nervously.

He was in a call with Tfue and Fiber, waiting in anticipation for the World Cup champion to finish his game. Emotions ran to a fever pitch after everything was confirmed though, with the trio celebrating their opponent’s getting knocked out, securing them the win.
They took home $60,000 for their performance and qualified for the Season Finals, but for Tfue, it came with an extra little bit of vindication. In his first week without his long-term partners, he managed to secure his first Fortnite Champion Series win after weeks of being so close. He finished as high as fifth in previous weeks, and has had two top 10 placings.
On the other hand, Cloak and 72hrs struggled throughout their weekend, with the latter being disconnected multiple times during their attempted run. They made it to the finals alongside Owen ‘Animal’ Wright, but didn’t finish in the top 10.
Tfue will be looking to keep the wins coming with his new partners when the Season Finals kick off next weekend.
