Epic Games announced the return of the Glider Redeploy, with a twist, in Fortnite on January 14, but it looks as though TSM’s Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani isn’t happy to see it return in its new state.
The Fortnite community was hit with a big surprise when Epic detailed the return of Glider Redeploy that will now be an item instead of an inherent mechanic that players have access to at all times.
While many players ended up coming around on the item by the time it was eventually removed from normal game modes, it sounds like the new implementation isn’t exactly what Myth was hoping for.
Myth was in the middle of his stream when Epic’s announcement went live on Twitter and members of chat urged him to bring up the Tweet.
Initially, Myth sounds incredibly happy upon hearing that Glider Redeploy was coming back.
“Let’s go, Epic!” Myth says as he heads to Twitter to find out more. “You know what, dude? Season 7, we finally get a win. Let’s go!”
It’s at this point, however, that he reads the Tweet and discovers that the feature will be coming back as an item that will be scattered around the map.
“We’re bringing back Glider Redeploy in 7.20 as a….WHAT THE FUCK?!” Myth yells upon finding out the details of the returning feature. “Epic! No! What are they doing?! WHY?!”

Myth didn’t seem to be alone in his feelings as his chat was filled with many question marks and exclamations of “An item?!?!” as everyone tried to come to grips with the news.
Even Myth’s teammate Daequan ‘Daequan’ Loco posted similar sentiments to his Twitter, saying “Instead of putting [Glider Redeploy] behind a wall of RNG due to finding the item or not, [it] could just make you spawn with X amount of charges that you use whenever.”
If they're gonna bring back glider redeploy….. Instead of putting it behind a wall of RNG due to finding the item or not, could just make you spawn in with X amount of charges that you have to use whenever. Thoughts? As with any new feature or item introduced to Fortnite, Epic Games has stated that they will be watching Glider Redeploy in its new form and will adjust the item accordingly over time.
The v7.20 update is set to go live on January 15 at 2am PST / 5am EST / 10am GMT, meaning there won’t be long before these players can get their hands on the new iteration of Glider Redeploy themselves.
