Epic Games revealed the Fortnite Championship Series at the World Cup and now we know a bit more about how it works and what prizes players can expect.
After the World Cup finished up, which featured a $30 million, many were left wondering where Epic Games would go after that and how that could be topped.
It was revealed that the Fortnite Championship Series would be introduced in Season 10 and it would be a competitive circuit where players go against each other to see who the best player is over the course of several weeks.
The series begins on August 17 and runs for five weeks with players competing on Saturdays and Sundays for a chunk of the dedicated prize pool and also the chance to qualify for the Season X Championship, Epic revealed in a blog post.

Epic Games doesn’t give all of the information about the prize pool but do mention that millions of dollars will be included so there’s a lot on the line.
This shouldn’t be too much of a surprise considering the amount of money Epic have already put into the esports scene.
Season 10 saw Arena Duos get vaulted so it’s just Solos and Trios left for this season, and it seems like that was for a distinct reason.

For those who aren’t interested in a Trios aspect, Epic Games also revealed Solo Cash Cups are coming back for the season and will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning on August 21.
Fortnite is certainly all in on their competitive events and have steadily been introducing more as time goes on.
The last thing Epic Games teased is the Fortnite Spotlight mode that will shed light on members of the Fortnite community from all over the globe.
We don’t have a lot of information about what this is but we’re sure we’ll learn a whole lot more in the near future.
