Thursday, December 6, will mark the start of Season 7 in Fortnite Battle Royale and the release of an all-new Battle Pass with hundreds of cosmetic items associated with it.
Season 6 was an eventful one, beginning with the Darkness Rises event that saw the mysterious cube turn Loot Lake into a massive floating island that then began to travel around the map.
Eventually the cube exploded entirely, turning Loot Lake into ‘Leaky Lake’ and seemingly bringing an end to the cube saga. But with Season 6 coming to an end, and Season 7 about to begin, what can you expect to see?
Here’s everything we know so far…
When does Fortnite Season 6 end?
Fortnite seasons tend to last a total of 10 weeks. The in-game counter shows that it is due to conclude on Wednesday, December 5.
If you’re still trying to unlock the last of the Season 6 Battle Pass items, you’re running out of time!

While the patch notes are usually released at the start of downtime, we expect there to be a long wait as the many changes for Season 7 are implemented.
What will the Season 7 theme be and what changes can we expect?
As Season 6 progressed, there were many theories that the map will be covered in snow for a winter/Christmas theme in Season 7, and the evidence to support those theories quickly began to stack up.
The first Season 7 teaser, which was released on December 3, also seems to support that theory and an icy silhouette was released along with the caption: “A bitter ice spreads… 3 days to Season 7.”
The second teaser followed a similar pattern and was captioned with: “A frigid day dawns… 2 days to Season 7.”

We’d say that these clues are more than enough to conclude that we’ll have a white Christmas in Fortnite this year!
Elsewhere, it’s looking more and more likely that new forms of transport, like planes and zip lines will be added to the game – the third Season 7 teaser all but confirmed this.
An all-new creative mode will also be debuting with virtually unlimited possibilities for mini-games and more.
What will the Season 7 Battle Pass skins look like?
We usually have very little idea of what to expect from a new Battle Pass prior to its release, but there are usually some hints in the teaser images.
This was once again the case with the Season 7 teasers, but they didn’t give much away due to the fact that they are silhouettes.
However, a major leak on December 5 gave us our first sneak peek at what to expect from a few of the outfits, at least:
How much will the Season 7 Battle Pass cost?
Expect to see Season 7 Battle Pass cost around the same amount as previous seasons, around 950 V-Bucks (~ $10).
The Battle Pass gives you the chance to unlock a range of exclusive skins, emotes and other cosmetic items as you level up through all the tiers.
You’ll also get the opportunity to complete Battle Pass challenges and, if previous seasons are anything to go by, unlock a mystery skin through a series of bonus challenges like this year’s ‘Hunting Party’.
How long will Season 7 last?
We’re expecting Season 7 to be another 10 week affair, with 10 sets of weekly challenges and 100 Battle Pass tiers to work through.
Epic Games usually start dropping hints and information about the coming season as it draws closer.
