Remedy continues to support Alan Wake 2 with a post-launch DLC, which includes expansions such as Night Springs and The Lake House.
Players finally returned to the town of Bright Falls when Alan Wake 2 launched in October 2023. With the eponymous character trapped in the Dark Place, FBI agent Saga Anderson was forced to investigate a mystery connected to the missing writer.
After finishing the experience, players may be wondering about its current and future DLC offerings. Thankfully, the developers have already discussed their long-term plans.
Here’s everything we know about Alan Wake 2’s DLC expansions and more.
Alan Wake 2’s free updates
Remedy started rolling out free updates late in 2023, upon launching the sequel’s New Game Plus mode on December 11. Entitled The Final Draft, this particular mode came with a new ending and fresh lore for players to unearth.
A much-coveted Photo Mode arrived several months later in June 2024.
Alan Wake 2’s paid expansions
The studio announced two paid expansions around the time of Alan Wake 2’s debut. Night Springs counted as the first of such releases, with the second expansion bearing the title of The Lake House.
Notably, customers who purchase the title’s Deluxe Edition ($79.99) will gain access to the Expansion Pass featuring both Night Springs and The Lake House.
Night Springs
Night Springs featured three episodes wherein players assumed the role of three different characters. Episode 1, Number One Fan, saw a “Rose” character defend the Author’s honor.

The expansion’s second episode, North Star, saw Control’s Jesse Faden battling through Coffee World.
Finally, the Time Breaker episode dropped Bright Falls Sheriff Tim Breaker into several interesting situations.
The Lake House
As seen in Alan Wake 2, the Lake House is a mysterious facility located just beyond the Cauldron Lake shoreline. The Federal Bureau of Control set up the research facility to conduct experiments in secret, but something has gone terribly wrong.
According to Remedy, players will “explore the Lake House and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.”
PlayStation’s September 2024 State of Play featured a first look at the upcoming expansion, and more was revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview in October where the launch day was finally confirmed.
Players will be able to hop into Alan Wake 2’s expansion – The Lake House – on October 22, 2024, across all platforms.
