XDefiant’s M60 can pack a punch if you have the right attachments. Here, we’re going to run through three classes: (1) our recommended M60 build, (2) a low recoil class, and (3) an M60 loadout for high damage.
It’s a little heavy due to its size, so it’s not the most mobile weapon. Still, with the right pieces attached, this can be partly fixed. It still may not become the easiest to get around with, but it makes it far more viable.
But you have to know how that loadout is designed, which is why this guide is here to fill you in on how to do just that in XDefiant.
Best M60 build in XDefiant – Recommended loadout
After our extensive testing, we would recommend these attachments for the M60 in XDefiant:
- Barrel: Chrome Lined
- Front Rail: PEQ-15
- Optics: Reflex
- Rear Grip: Grip Tape
- Stock: Lightweight Stock
The M60 has plenty of power on its own, and this loadout ensures that it becomes far more balanced.
The PEQ-15 improves accuracy both vertically and horizontally. This emphasis on landing shots helps with the Reflex Optic, which is a clean, simple way to better line up your shots before taking an enemy down.
The Grip Tape will provide better recoil recovery when aiming down the sights, as well as some vertical recoil control. The Lightweight Stock will aid your movement, as it allows you to move faster while aiming down your sights and your overall movement speed.
Finally, the Chrome Lined Barrel is going to allow you to effectively hit targets from both short- and medium-ranges, which is a huge benefit.
Secondary weapon & grenade to use
Your secondary weapon should be the 686 Magnum to give you another powerful punch of a weapon if you run out of ammo in your clip.
Finally, bring along a Frag Grenade, a well-rounded explosive device that can soften up a group of enemies before you move in to mow them down.

Best M60 loadout for low recoil
- Barrel: Stabilizing Barrel
- Front Rail: Tactical Grip
- Stock: Padded Stock
- Optic: Reflex
- Rear Grip: Lightweight Grip
Give your M60 improved recoil with the Stabilizing Barrel, and keep your time while aiming down the sights more stable with the Padded Stock.
Your recoil recovery is helped through the use of the Tactical Grip and Lightweight Grip, with the latter also giving you faster movement speed while aiming.
Finally, the Reflex is the best all-around sight in the game, giving you an edge in both the close quarter fights and the long distance encounters.
Best M60 loadout for damage
- Muzzle: Muzzle Booster
- Barrel: Heavy Barrel
- Front Rail: Superlight Grip
- Magazine: Fast Mag
- Rear Grip: Quick Draw Grip
To bring the most damage out of the M60, you will want to start with the Muzzle Booster that will boost your rate of fire, along with the Heavy Barrel to give a bump in the damage of each shot you fire.
You can use the Fast Mag to give you more shots in each of your clips, and also reload a little faster as well.
To round this loadout into shape, you can have the Quick Draw Grip to give you a higher ADS speed, sprint-to-fire time, and help you move faster in general.
Best Faction for the M60
Your best bet is to use the M60 with the Cleaners, as their Incendiary ammo will give a possibility of setting your enemies on fire. This will buff the damage even further to make it a force to be reckoned with.
How to unlock the M60 in XDefiant
To unlock the M60, you will need to deal 5,000 damage to enemy equipment with an LMG. This can be done with any LMG you have available at the time.
The M60 is not the only option for you in XDefiant, as there are plenty of guns making up the game’s meta. So check out how to best build out the M249, SVD, and ACR 6.8 to come ready.
