Black Myth: Wukong Xbox delays
Unfortunately for players on Xbox Series S/X, Black Myth: Wukong has been delayed indefinitely. Developer Game Science confirmed the delay in an FAQ on June 6, 2024.
“PC and PS5 users can enjoy the full game starting August 20, 2024. We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series S/X version to meet our quality standards, so it won’t release simultaneously with the other platforms,” the FAQ stated. “We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”
There is no confirmed release date for Black Myth: Wukong on Xbox consoles as of yet. We’ll be sure to keep players updated when one is announced.
Story and plot
Black Myth: Wukong is based on the novel ‘Journey to the West’ and revolves around Sun Wukong, a legendary mythic figure in Chinese folklore. Known for his strength, agility, and ability to shift into various forms, Wukong is an incredibly powerful being.

During the May 2024 WeGame event, Game Science unleashed yet another gameplay trailer. Stunning visuals and a few brief glimpeses at cutscenes also sit center stage.
On August 8, 2024, Game Science released the final trailer for Black Myth: Wukong where they provided an overall look into the game before players get their hands on it on August 20, 2024.
Platforms
Black Myth: Wukong will launch on PC and PlayStation 5 on August 20, 2024. The Xbox version has been delayed. The title is not coming to last-gen hardware.
