F1 Manager 2022 developers Frontier have clarified that they will continue to support the game after fans expressed significant concern that the title would stop receiving support less than three months after its release.
Frontier Development’s F1 Manager 2022 dropped back on August 30, accumulating positive responses from critics and players alike.
On October 27, the ire of many fans was provoked when Frontier appeared to confirm that they would be ending post launch support less than three months after the game released.
In a Reddit post, the devs explained that the “next update for F1 Manager 2022 will be the last significant update that addresses player-reported feedback, or suggested changes and additions. Any potential updates following this would be minor patches that do not noticeably affect gameplay.”
Their reasoning was to protect the quality of future F1 manager installments, explaining that it is necessary to ensure new games “realize their potential.”
A significant number of players were left disappointed and even angry by the developers’ statement.

“I mean, I can understand that you’re trying to focus on F1 Manager 2023 now to make it better than 2022, but only 2 months of updates?” one player said. “And the updates even stop before the end of the F1 season? Damn, that’s rough.”
F1 Manager 2022 devs clarify statement and confirm ongoing support
However, in an October 28 statement, Frontier have clarified their previous comments and confirmed the game will continue to receive updates, albeit not ones that launch “new significant gameplay features.”
They said: “To be crystal clear: we will continue to support F1 Manager 2022, with multiple updates currently in the pipeline, focused on addressing the most important topics raised by the community… Yesterday’s post was to explain that the addition of any new significant gameplay features for F1 Manager 2022 requested by players would not be possible, but this was not clear.”
Their statement also promised a number of upcoming updates to resolve pertinent issues like Estimated Race Time and fuel usage. They did, though, confirm that unlapping safety car problems would not be solved.
Frontier finished: “Everyone on the F1 Manager 2022 team remains focused on further improving the game, and your feedback is the driving force behind that. Thank you for your support, and we’ll be in touch with a status update as soon as possible.”
