Soa

Soa in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Soa is the poster girl of Foamstars for a reason. Not only do her twin handguns deal plenty of damage, but she also has a huge amount of mobility thanks to Bubble Step. When activated, Soa leaps into the air, leaving a trail of deadly bubbles that shoot toward her target.

This skill is great for escaping tricky situations or can be used as a lethal gap closer that enables you to get up close to unleash a hail of bubbly bullets. Spiky Beat also acts as an AoE grenade that gives her great zone control and cross-map mid-range potential, while also keeping her enemies off objectives.

Lastly, her ultimate, Gotta Crush sees Soa roll around the map in a gigantic bubble ball that cruises any enemies that dare to get in her way. Ultimately, Soa has it all.

Penny Gwyn

Penny Gwyn in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Penny Gwyn is a mid-range character who uses her high-precision assault rifle to paint the ground from and barrage her enemies from afar. The fire rate may be slower than Soa’s twin guns, but the damage and extra range make her an excellent pick.

Her Penguin Squad skill summons her avian companion, which then fires a concentrated barrage of bubbles in a target location. If that wasn’t enough, Penny Gwyn’s Toboggan Bomb creates a path of foam that can be used to surf along, which is particularly good for gap closing and fleeing unfavorable firefights.

Emperor March sends a gigantic penguin marching ahead, blasting every enemy within its range before detonating in a massive foam explosion. When used in chokepoints or objectives with lots of enemies, this ultimate can be incredibly potent.

Tonix

Tonix in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Tonix is Foamstars’ archetypal sniper class. Her rifle can be charged to deliver long-range shots that can snipe enemies from afar, which makes her particularly powerful, especially when you find a safe vantage point.

If you sniping isn’t for you, then Tonix’s rifle also comes packed with a quick-fire burst function. While it won’t beat close-range characters like Soa, it can still deliver plenty of damage.

Her turret also makes her a must for Rubber Duck Party, the game’s payload game mode. Simply place the turret on top or near the payload and watch as your enemies get pelted with a steady stream of bubbles. Tonix’s ultimate also summons a gigantic robot to the battlefield, which targets the closest enemy and barrages them with three AoE shots.

The Baristador

The Baristador in FoamstarsSquare Enix

The Baristador is a long-range support that uses his gun and skills to create paths of foam, which his team can use to get around the map quickly. While his weapon may not deal as much damage as other characters in the game, the ability to cut a direct route to objectives and enemies is unparalleled.

In fact, a good Baristador player can set up game-winning plays that enable the game’s damage dealers to shine. Bitter Drip can also be used to create a wall of foam that both sponges incoming damage, and can even be used to set kills and chokepoints.

If you’re looking for a strong zone denial character and one that works well in every team comp, then you can’t go wrong with The Baristador.

Jet Justice

Jet Justice in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Jet Justice is known as an all-rounder. His primary weapon is a shotgun that offers different damage profiles depending on the length of the charge time, while his skills revolve around displacing his enemies and shielding his team from enemy foam shots.

As the name suggests, Jet Vacuum Sphere pulls in all nearby enemies – making them incredibly easy to kill when synced with allied ults and skills. Jet’s Justice’s Cosmic Dive is also a great gap closer and enables him to set up shield-based plays with his ultimate.

Rave Breaker

Rave Breaker in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Rave Breaker is a close-range trickster who uses his weapon to pile up foam, making it easier for him to hide and ambush his foes. His kit revolves around delving under the foam and launching surprise attacks with his Roley-Moley explosives.

The troublesome trickster’s ult sees Roley-Moley suck up surrounding rivals and foam, which can be pretty potent during objective play. Rave Breaker is a decent choice for those who enjoy lurking behind enemy lines looking for picks.

Mel T

Square Enix

Mel T is currently only available to those who purchase the premium Season Pass. Fortunately, this pint-sized clown is easily skippable, with other characters surpassing her in almost every way. While her long-range bazooka offers homing missiles that lock onto enemies, their damage and overall projectile speed are lackluster.

Despite that, Mel T’s Sumptuous Promo can deal excellent damage to grouped enemies and can be used to bombard a zone. Her controllable laser ultimate is also decent at killing multiple enemies, but getting picks with her main primary isn’t the most engaging nor the most damaging.

Agito

Agito in FoamstarsSquare Enix

Agito comes packed with a close-range shotgun and mobility skills that get him in and out of combat quickly. While his shotgun deals high burst damage, he’s incredibly easy to counter thanks to his need to be up close and personal.

Painting the ground near Agito quickly renders him useless and unable to unleash any of his shotgun blasts. His ultimate, THX GG, is also underwhelming with the shark torpedo being pretty easy to avoid.
