The upcoming sequel the widely-acclaimed God of War reboot is well on its way. Here’s everything that you need to know about where Kratos’ journey will take him next in Ragnarok.

Following an epic adventure in the award-winning God of War reboot from 2018, the Game of the Year title has been confirmed to be receiving a continuation of the epic story.

With breathtaking level design and graphical prowess that set a new bar for the games industry, God of War has shaped the expectations of what players can look forward to from a game of this caliber.

God of War: Ragnarok release date

While no specific release date has been confirmed, developers Santa Monica have stated that the sequel will be arriving on PS5 in 2021.

This will likely be sometime towards Q3/Q4, but the game may also be susceptible to further delays.

Featuring a blue runic logo that seems to heavily imply a continuation or cycle parallel to that of an infinity symbol, what could this riddle of a teaser hint towards?

The end title card simply hints that ‘Ragnarok is coming’ – and if the previous game is anything to go by, players are surely set for a whirlwind of gripping narratives and intense combat moments.

What is Ragnarok about?

We’re sure to see more detailed look into Kratos and Atreus’ journey, and the power the boy possesses. The end of God of War reveals that Thor will confront the pair in the sequel’s story, which is set after a long, three-year spanning Fimbulwinter.

With Thor joining the fray, it’s incredibly likely that players will have the chance to fight and confront many more Norse-based mythical gods and beings throughout the sequel’s story.

Gameplay

Little is currently known about what we can expect for players, but it seems likely that the upcoming title will continue, and build upon, the abilities and mechanics available in the reboot.
